It's not the blushing I care so much about, it's how long it lasts. I would give a lecture and be okay, but eating dinner? Red. And then it would also be red when going out, especially if I was drinking, and taking pictures is the worst! It seems to happen when I don't even feel embarrassed. In college, if I had to go to class after practice it would still be red for the whole class. When I played sports, my skin would literally turn purple and people would stop me to ask if I was okay. Hey, my skin is ridiculously pale and I blush a lot too. That way you're already dogging yourself and cannot be 'made fun of'. Next time you feel a blush coming on, just ask whoever you're with if you are blushing. Keep doing whatever it is you were doing. Realize you do not control your blushes and that they happen, and just go on. You already know that it happens without you controlling it. The awkwardness, shyness was still there, but no where near when I was younger. 'I'm blushing, aren't I?' She started blushing! I just kept on telling my story. Shoot, I'm 26 and on Monday I was telling a story and I started blushing. 'Yup, I cannot control it! It happens sometimes!' -me. One day, I said to myself, 'I cannot control my blushing, might as well not let it bother me.' Boom. Eventually, I got to where I tried to continue, but once someone stated that I was blushing, I was back to being shy. Once I could feel I was blushing (like you), I would immediately clam up, act awkward, etc. This continued until I could feel when I was blushing.

Once that happened, I stopped and clammed up.

Early in life I didn't know I was blushing and kept talking, telling joke, acting silly, etc until someone told me I was blushing.
